Affymetrix today announced a co-marketing deal,和合作 under which BioDiscovery was named its preferred software provider for Affymetrix OncoScan FFPE Express Service data analysis.

Customers accessing the OncoScan FFPE Express Service through the Affymetrix Research Services Laboratory will receive a preliminary Nexus Copy Number data analysis from BioDiscovery, which has customized the product for Affymetrix to make it the "most user-friendly, flexible, and compatible tool available for OncoScan FFPE Express microarray data analysis," the companies said in a statement.

BioDiscovery will consult with customers on a one-on-one basis for downstream analysis of their data in order to "elucidate pathways and identify copy number variations and copy-neutral loss of heterozygosity events."

The OncoScan FFPE Express Service was designed to overcome the challenges of DNA analysis for FFPE tissues to extract important retrospective clinical data from archived samples.

"By simplifying data interpretation with the Nexus Copy Number software, we're providing a complete solution to our customers," said Nargol Faravashi, Affymetrix's global strategic marketing manager for DNA cancer applications. The technology can be used on FFPE tumor samples as old as 28 years, she added.

Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
